Is there Hope for Foster Care?

Lord, we come to You in hope, believing You are who You say You are.

You are for us. You are good. You are enough.

Today we ask for Your presence to be made known throughout the foster care system.

For the children, we pray for peace, rest, and hope, You know each child and we trust that You will not forsake them. Remove the crippling fears and anxiety that seem to be a constant weight they bear.

Place safe and caring adults in their lives to teach them scripture, worship songs, and prayer so that they have something to replace negative thoughts and memories.

We ask you to heal deep wounds and use the scars for Your glory.

You are for them. You are good. You are enough.

For the foster parents, we pray for wisdom, rest, and encouragement. Thank you for using us to further the kingdom. Give us wisdom that comes only from You.

We ask for boldness as we advocate for Your precious children. Show us how to love like You even when the outcome is not what we desire. You are a Father who knows the excruciating pain of watching Your Son suffer unimaginable hardships. You know the grief of losing Your only Son.

Do not forget us as we walk through dark places. Place believers all around us to encourage us spiritually, financially, emotionally, and physically.

You are good. Your are for us. You are enough.

For the birth parents, we pray for healing, strength, and grace. Surround them with support from foster parents, children’s division, the courts, and The Church. Place their children in foster homes that will love both the children and birth parents. Give them strength to do hard things like attend rehab, end abusive relationships, and break the cycle of poor choices in their families. Place Your angels all around them. Give them grace.

You are for them. You are good. You are enough.

For the workers in the system that is so broken, we pray for guidance, motivation, and passion. Help them fight for the children they have been assigned to. Give them a passion for these kids. Do not let them be discouraged as they navigate a system that feels broken beyond repair. They are constantly fighting against the current. Guide them. Show them how to advocate for change in the system allowing them to do their jobs effectively.

You are for them. You are good. You are enough.

Thank you for being a God who hears our prayers. Forgive us when we try to do this on our own. We know that you can use the leaders of this country to change the foster care system for the better. Give us wisdom as we vote for these leaders. In the end we know

YOU ARE KING JESUS!

YOU ARE FOR US. YOU ARE GOOD. YOU ARE ENOUGH. Amen
