Is There Hope for the Media?

Almighty God,

we cry out to you on behalf of the media in America. We desire to read, see, and hear truth. We are weary of partisan politics spinning every story, creating division, and wreaking havoc in our country.

Grant us wisdom, discerning minds, and hearts set on Your will for America as we receive every written and spoken word through the each media outlets.

We pray for journalists, writers, and bloggers. Convict them to write facts and report news without the spin and bias so often accompanied in the news. Empower believers to stand for integrity, respect, and civility in their writing. Grant them courage to stand up to those in authority when asked to compromise integrity or truth for ratings and political agendas; no matter which side of the aisle they are on.

Lord, we know that you detest lying lips, but delight in men and women who are truthful and trustworthy. Raise up a generation of Christians to work in the media to cover stories in a fair and balanced way. Equip them with skill to rise to the top of their profession. Show Yourself strong on their behalf and pour out Your favor on their work for Your glory.

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, we lift up photographers, cameramen and women, videographers and vloggers. There is so much that can snipped and clipped to make both candidates look and say anything to fit a political narrative. Reveal the whole truth about actions, reactions, confrontations and compromises for every candidate in local, state and the presidental election.

May decency prevail over deceit, morality over money, and truth over talebearing.

Please be merciful to the American people and allow fact over fiction and real over rhetoric to be reported.

May networks and newsources run by those who are bent on destroying our culture and stirring up division and hatred, be called into account. Show the American people the truth behind their agendas.

Help us be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry before responding or posting on social media. May the words of our mouth and the thoughts of our hearts be pleasing to You, Lord God.

Trusting You because You are The Truth, amen.
